The theme for 2016 April Fools was the genderbender theme! All lions appeared as the opposite sex, and the Lab Test Frog item became available as a result, allowing this effect to be applied to lions year-round! The item can be purchased from the Oasis for 2 GB.

This year, Lioden celebrated April Fools by turning lions' bases GREEN! Alongside this, a cool new item was added to the Oasis, and it returns annually on April 1st each year, which allows you to change your lion's base to Green. The applicator is called Feast of (April's) Fools and costs 2 GB.

2024 was the year of Liolingo! This was a playful wordplay on Duolingo, a popular language-study platform. On Lioden that day, you could see what your lions were saying to you as if it were a translation from their language to your own. If they make sense is another matter that should be studied, though...
