If you've played Lioden for any stretch of time, you may see some abbreviations and terms that don't quite seem to make sense. Using shorthand is a good way to express your thoughts quickly, but what does it all mean?

Acronyms  

Acronyms are words that have been abbreviated down to their initial letters - for example, "NASA" is the acronym for "National Aeronautics and Space Administration". Acronyms are quite common on Lioden, especially in regards to currency. Let's see what all the commonly-used acronyms are!

Currency  

  • AC: Axion Cores, July's primary event currency.
  • AT: Arena Tokens, May's secondary event currency.
  • BB: Blood Beetles, October's primary event currency.
  • CB: Carrion Beetles, August's primary event currency.
  • DB: Dry Bones, August's secondary event currency.
    It was also used to refer to Dive Beetles, June's retired event currency.
  • DS: Demonic Scales, October's secondary event currency.
  • EE: Easter Eggs, April's primary event currency.
  • ET: Eldritch Tokens, September's secondary event currency.
  • FF: Fireflies, the retired July event's primary currency.
  • GB: Gold(en) Beetles, Lioden's premium currency.
  • HP: Hare Points, April's secondary event currency.
  • HS: Heart Shells, February's event currency.
  • JB: Jewel Beetles, September's primary event currency.
  • KB: Khepri Beetles, June's event currency.
  • LB: Leather Beetles, January's event currency.
  • MB: Manticora Beetles, May's primary event currency.
  • MS: Meteorite Shards, July's secondary event currency.
  • MT: Monkey Teeth, the Gorilla Enclave's currency.
  • NF: Nepheline Feathers, October's tertiary event currency.
  • RB: Rhino Beetles, March's event currency.
  • RP: Referral Points, the Referral Shop's currency.
  • SB: Silver Beetles, Lioden's free and primary currency.
    It can also refer to Scarab Beetles, November's event currency, or Stink Bugs, December's event currency.
  • StB: Stink Bugs, December's event currency.

Items  

  • BG: Background, a decoration item that displays a scene behind a lion.
  • BS: Black Stallion, an item that is given to lionesses and guarantees she will get pregnant on her next immediate breeding attempt.
  • CD: Custom Decor, a decoration item that is not official site decor. See the Custom Decor page for more information.
  • CRB: Cotton Root Bark, an item that induces a miscarriage on a pregnant lioness and increases her chance of producing mutated cubs.
  • IBF: Instant Birth Feather, the community-given name for the Instant Cub Delivery item.
  • ICD: Instant Cub Delivery, an item that causes a pregnant and nested lioness to immediately give birth without waiting three rollovers.
  • GMO: GMO Cow, an item that is given to lionesses and increases her chances of producing mutated cubs.
  • GoP/GOP: Grain of Paradise, an item that is fed to male lions and guarantees he will produce at least 2 cubs in his next immediate breeding.
  • LM: Lion Meat, an item that is given to lionesses and slightly increases her chance of producing mutated cubs.
  • LS: Lion Scrotum, an item that is given to a mutated lioness and increases her chance of passing down her mutation to her cubs.
  • LTF: Lab Test Frog, a decor that changes the appearing gender of the lion it is equipped to. Equip it to a male lion to make them display as female while still functioning as male, and vice versa.
  • MoD/MOD: Mutie on Demand, an item that applies a mutation to a chosen lion. See the Mutations page for more information.
  • RMA: Random Marking Applicator, an item that applies a random marking at a random opacity within the chosen slot of your chosen lion.
  • RMR: Random Marking Replacer, an item that replaces an existing marking with a random marking at a random opacity within the chosen slot of your chosen lion.
  • SoD/SOD: Shadow of Death, an item that shortens a lioness's breeding cooldown by one day, ages her up by one month, and resets her total hunts for that day.
  • TS: Total Shuffle, an item that applies between 10 to 20 random markings at random opacities on your chosen lion. The more marking slots your lion has unlocked, the more markings a Total Shuffle will apply on them.
  • YB: Yohimbe Bark, an item that shortens a lioness's breeding cooldown by one day.

Lions  

  • AGI: A lion's Agility stat.
  • AMP: "Adult Mutation Present", a cub or adolescent with a hidden mutation that does not appear until adulthood. See the Adult Mutations page for more information.
  • BO: "Breed Only", referring to lion attributes (bases, eyes, mane colours, mane shapes, markings, and/or skins) that can only be passed down from breeding.
    It can also refer to Buyout, detailed further below on this page.
  • DF: "Dorsal Fur", a visible-from-birth mutation that causes lions to have a ruffed mane running from the back of its head to the middle of its tail. See the Dorsal Fur section of the Visible Mutations page for more information.
  • DU: "Double Uterus", an adult mutation exclusive to lionesses that allows a lioness to have doubled litters and breed to two studs at once. See the Double Uterus section on the Adult Mutations page for more information.
  • FGJ: "First Gen(eration) Jaglion", a hybrid between a jaguar father and lion mother that is the first Jaglion within its lineage.
  • FGL: "First Gen(eration) Leopon", a hybrid between a leopard father and lion mother that is the first Leopon within its lineage.
  • FGT: "First Gen(eration) Tigon", a hybrid between a tiger father and a lion mother that is the first Tigon within its lineage.
  • GF: "Good Fertility". See the Fertility page for more information.
  • HF: "High Fertility". See the Fertility page for more information.
  • LF: "Low Fertility". See the Fertility page for more information.
  • NCG: "Newly Claimed Groupie", an adolescent male or adult female lioness that has been claimed from V'Kai during the May event.
  • NCL: "Newly Claimed Lioness", a lioness that has been claimed from Explore.
  • NRLC: "Near Raffle Lioness Clone", a lion that shares traits in common with a weekly special lioness.
  • RL: "Raffle Lady" or "Raffle Lioness", the weekly special lioness that is raffled off to Dreamboat kings.
  • RLC: "Raffle Lioness Clone", an identical clone of a weekly special lioness.
  • SMR: A lion's Smarts stat.
  • SPD: A lion's Speed stat.
  • STA: A lion's Stamina stat.
  • STR: A lion's Strength stat.
  • VLF: "Very Low Fertility". See the Fertility page for more information.

Miscellaneous  

  • AB: "Autobuy" or "Auto Buy", a term used when selling items or lions. An autobuy is a price determined by the asset's seller that will enable a buyer to instantly purchase the asset.
    Eg., "AB on my dwarf is 10 GB!"
  • BIC/IC: "Back In Character" or "In Character", the opposite of "Out Of Character" or "Out Of Roleplay". This is a term used to make it clear that whatever the player says is within the character of their current roleplay.
  • BO: "Buyout", a term used to reference the price at which an asset can be immediately purchased from the seller.
    Eg., "BO on my lion is 5 GB!"
    It can also refer to Breed Only, detailed above on this page.
  • CB: "Current Bid", a term used to reference the amount of currency, items, or other assets currently being offered on an asset that is up for auction or sale.
    Eg., "CB is 5 GB by ABC (#1)."
  • CS: "Character Sheet", a post made on an official Character Sheet thread containing your roleplay character's information.
  • CSS: Cascading Style Sheet. A type of code used to customise player den pages, caves, and branches. Here is a helpful guide to CSS.
  • EXP: Experience, the statistic of your lion that determines how close they are to leveling up. Experience is essentially useless on all lions except for main males.
  • FAPA: "Feed All, Play All", a tool purchased via the Oasis that will make feeding and interacting with your lions very easy.
  • FAQ: "Frequently Asked Questions", a list of questions that are commonly asked around the site. See the onsite Lioden FAQ page for more information.
  • FC: "First Claim", a term used in relation to Giveaways Chat where the first player to click the "Claim" button will receive a giveaway.
  • FE: Fire Escape, Lioden's version of an endless platformer that is only playable during the August event. See the Event Games page for more information.
  • GCS: "Gorilla Cub Swap", a subforum of Stockpile where players can exchange their cubs that fit Gorilla Enclave quest requirements.
  • HB: "High(est) Bid", a term used to reference the highest amount of currency, items, or other assets that has been ofered on an asset that is up for auction or sale.
  • HM: "Hard Mode", an unofficial playstyle created by the community where the objective is to avoid breeding outside of your own pride. Here is an FAQ thread posted by Hard Mode's creator, Cerrates (#49783).
  • HTH: "Happy Tree Hour", formerly a player-made game involving the Giving Tree. Due to the way the Giving Tree functions, it is much more difficult to schedule "HTH drops" or "Happy Tree Hour" as items are no longer queued to be released to the Giving Tree every hour.
  • HTML: Hyper Text Markup Language, a type of code used to customise player den pages, caves, branches, and forum threads. Here is a helpful guide to HTML.
  • IMP: Impression, your main male's ability to claim NCLs with ease.
  • LB: Leaderboard, the area of the site that showcases the most impressive players, kings, and pride members.
  • LD: It's Lioden!
  • LDT: Lioden time, the time at which something occurred on Lioden's server.
  • LF: "Looking For", a term that is most commonly used in Chatter or Sales Chat when a player is seeking to purchase a specific asset.
    Eg., "LF Vitiligo lions!"
  • MI: "Minimum Increment" or "Minimum Increase", a term that refers to the next lowest amount of currency in which a player can bid on an asset that is up for auction or sale.
    Eg., "MI on my auction is 50 SB. Your offer must be at least 50 SB higher than the current bid."
  • O: "Offering", a term that refers to a player that is offering an asset of some sort in exchange for another asset.
    Eg., "LF: amusement items, O: currency"
  • OBO/ONO: "Or Best Offer" or "Or Nearest Offer", terms that refer to an offer that a seller is willing to take in exchange for their asset.
    Eg., "Buyout is 50 GB OBO/ONO!"
  • OC: "Original Character", a term used in the context of roleplaying to describe a player's character that they themselves created, as opposed to using a premade character.
  • OOC/OORP: "Out Of Character" or "Out Of Roleplay", the opposite of "Back In Character" or "In Character". This is a term used to make it clear that whatever the player says is outside of the current roleplay's context and is unrelated to the roleplay.
  • PC: Poacher Chase, Lioden's version of an endless platformer that is only playable during the March event. See the Event Games page for more information.
  • PM: "Private Message", a term for one player directly messaging another player. This is a way for two players to interact with each other without using Chatter or the Chat Room.
  • RB: "Reverse Breed".
  • RC: "Random Claim", a term used in relation to Giveaways Chat where a random player who clicks the "Claim" button will receive a giveaway.
  • RNG: Random Number Generator, or the probability of something occurring. Most of Lioden's systems run off of RNG/probability and are entirely randomised. Here is a probability guide made by Karma (#15716).
  • RO: Rollover, a mechanic that occurs daily at 2:05am LDT and progresses each person's account by one Lioden month (one real life day).
  • RR: Reptile Roundup, Lioden's version of a snake type game. See the Reptile Roundup page for more information.
  • RP: "Roleplay", a term for a story that is acted out between two or more players that involves characters and suspension of disbelief.
  • S: "Selling", a term that refers to a player that is selling an asset of some sort.
  • SB: "Starting Bid", a term that refers to the lowest amount of currency or items in which a player can bid on an asset that is up for auction or sale.
    Eg., "SB on my Lion Meat is 1 GB!"
  • SS: Serengeti Shuffle, Lioden's version of a match three type game. See the Serengeti Shuffle page for more information.
  • TC: Trading Center, Lioden's official area to sell and trade assets with other players.
  • W: "Want(ed)", a term that is most commonly used in Chatter or Sales Chat when a player is seeking to purchase a specific asset.
    Eg., "W: Stud for my lioness!"
  • WAS: Whack a Snake, Lioden's version of a whack-a-mole type game. See the Whack a Snake page for more information.
  • WD: The Lion Wardrobe, an area where you can design and dress up lions at no cost.
    It is also used to refer to Wolvden, Lioden's upcoming sister site.
  • WDW: "Wardrobe Warning", a term meant to notify players who may be on mobile devices or using a slow internet connection that the link they are clicking on will take them to the Lion Wardrobe.
  • WTB: "Wanting To Buy", a term that is most commonly used in Chatter or Sales Chat when a player is seeking to purchase a specific asset.
    Eg., "WTB Lion Meat!"
  • YCH/YLH: "Your Character Here" or "Your Lion Here", a pre-drawn scene sold by a player that can be edited to fit a player's character or lion/lioness.

Items  

  • App(s): Applicator, an item that changes the appearance of a lion in some way, shape, or form.
  • Balls: A word that can refer to Buffalo Scrotums or Lion Scrotums.
  • Bark/Y Bark: Yohimbe Bark, an item that shortens a lioness's breeding cooldown by one day.
  • Buffy/Buffy Balls/Buffy Scrote/Buffies: Buffalo Scrotum, an item that is fed to male lions and guarantees he will produce at least 3 cubs in his next immediate breeding.
  • Crunchy: Crunchy Worm, an item that is given to lionesses and carries a 25% chance that she will duplicate her looks onto one cub within her next immediate litter.
  • Gnaw: Ochre Gnawrock, an item that is given to a parent to secure its marking passes down to all cubs in their next immediate litter.
  • Ferus Weed/Muk: Mukombero, an item that is given to lionesses and guarantees she will produce one Primal (Ferus) cub in her next immediate breeding.
  • Jelly: Jellyfish, an item that freezes a cub and makes them immortal.
  • Tort: Giant Tortoise, an item that gives between 400 to 800 EXP to your chosen lion.

Lions  

  • Adol: An adolescent lion that is between the ages of 1 year to 1 year, 11 months.
  • Bacon/Bacon Cub: A cub with the Harlequin Ichtyosis lethal mutation. See the Harlequin Ichtyosis section of the Lethal Mutations page for more information.
  • Bob/Bobbed/Bobbie/Bobby: A lion with the Bobbed Tail mutation. See the Bobbed Tail section of the Visible Mutations page for more information.
  • Bean/Dwarfie/Dwarfy/Smol: A lion with the Dwarfism mutation. See the Dwarfism section of the Visible Mutations page for more information.
  • Blep: A lion with the Overgrown Tongue mutation. See the Overgrown Tongue section of the Visible Mutations page for more information.
  • Brood/Broodmom: A lioness with the Broodmother role.
  • Butt Patch/Butt Patches: A lion with the Patches (Croupe) variation mutation. See the Patches and Piebalds page for more information.
  • Cele: A shorthand term for Celestial, which can refer to the Celestial base, Celestial mane colour, or Celestial marking colour.
  • Chased/Chased Lady/Chased NCL: A Newly Claimed Lioness that has been chased by another player.
  • Clean: An unofficial playstyle with many different definitions, the most common one being that players will avoid inbreeding their lions with each other.
  • Clean Rep: A clean replacer, a lion whose intended purpose is to remove inbreeding within the heritage of a player's current king. When clean repping (or clean replacing), players will keep the appearance of their current male, but use their clean rep as their new king. This way, they can keep their king's appearance that they may have worked hard for while also removing inbreeding within their king's heritage.
  • Cleftie/Clefty: A cub with the Cleft Palate lethal mutation. See the Cleft Palate section of the Lethal Mutations page for more information.
  • Colourbomb: A lion that has many different bright colours due to their base and marking combinations.
  • Corrupt: A lion with the Patches (Corrupted) variation mutation. See the Patches and Piebalds page for more information.
  • Cubbin: A cub that is between the ages of 0 months to 11 months.
  • Dirty/Inbred: An unofficial playstyle with many different definitions, the most common one being that players will intentionally inbreed their lions with each other.
  • Fert: A shorthand term for fertility.
  • First Gen: A lion that is the first of its generation and has no heritage.
  • First Gen Hybrid: A hybrid mutated lion that is the first hybrid within its lineage. First generation hybrids are signified by the (First Generation) in their mutation field.
  • Fod/Fodder/Karma Fodder: Low-value and boring lions (generally NCLs), normally sold for cheap, who generally are intended to be used to quickly gain karma by killing them (-5 karma per lion killed) or nature reserving them (+5 karma per lion reserved).
  • Foldie/Foldy: A lion with the Folded Ears mutation.
  • Frozen: A lion that has been immortalised and is frozen in time.
  • Gen: A lion that has a certain number of ancestors within their heritage. A lion with only a mother and a father would be "Second Generation", "2nd Gen", "Gen 2", "G2", or "2G".
  • Gon: A Tigon, which is a hybrid between a tiger father and a lion mother. See the Tigons section of the Hybrids page for more information.
  • Gorilla Cub/Gorilla Fodder: A cub, normally sold for cheap, who generally fits the requirements for Gorilla Enclave quests.
  • Groupie: An adolescent male or adult female lioness that has been claimed from V'Kai during the May event.

  • Infert: A lioness whose fertility is Infertile (0%). See the Fertility page for more information.
  • Jag/Jon: A Jaglion, which is a hybrid between a jaguar father and a lion mother. See the Jaglions section of the Hybrids page for more information.
  • Kiman: A shorthand term for Kimanjano, which can refer to the Kimanjano base or Kimanjano marking colour.
  • Lethal: A lion with a lethal mutation. See the Lethal Mutations page for more information.
  • Lipo/Lumpy: A cub with the Lipomatosis lethal mutation. See the Lipomatosis section of the Lethal Mutations page for more information.
  • Mermaid/Siren: A cub with the Sirenomelia lethal mutation. See the Sirenomelia section of the Lethal Mutations page for more information.
  • Mott: A shorthand term for Mottled, which can refer to the Piebald (Mottled) variation mutation or the Mottled Rosette, Mottled Stripes, or Mottled Vents markings.
  • MottRose/Mott Rose: A shorthand term for the Mottled Rosette marking. See the Hybrid Markings section of the Special Markings page for more information.
  • Mut/Mute/Mutie: A lion that has any mutation. See the Mutations page for more information.
  • Mut Rep/Mutie Rep: A mutation replacer, a lion whose intended purpose is to change the mutation of a player's current king. When mut repping (or mutation replacing), players will keep the appearance of their current male, but use their mut rep as their new king. This way, they can keep their king's appearance that they may have worked hard for while also increasing his value by making him have a new mutation.
  • Natural: A lion that uses mainly brown, black, cream, gold, and white-coloured markings. Natural designs tend to mimic what lions look like in real life.
  • Nim: Nimravus, a marking shape that is specific to Random Marking Applicators. See the RMA Markings section on the Applicator Markings page for more information.
  • OG Claws/OG Fur/OG Teeth: A lion with the Overgrown Claws, Overgrown Fur, or Overgrown Teeth adult mutation. See the Adult Mutations page for more information.
  • Pan: Panther, a marking shape that tends to be applicator- or breed-only.
  • Pastel: A lion with soft bright "pastel" colours due to their base and marking combinations. They tend to be less visually loud than colourbombs, but you can have a pastel colourbomb lion.
  • Patch: A lion with any one of the Patches variations mutation. See the Patches and Piebalds page for more information.
  • Patchonyx: A combination of the words "Patches" and "Onyx", meant to indicate an Onyx-based lion with any one of the Patches variations mutation.
  • Pie: A lion with any one of the Piebald variations mutation. See the Patches and Piebalds page for more information.
  • Piebino: A combination of the words "Piebald" and "Albino", meant to indicate an Albino-based lion with any one of the Piebald variations mutation.
  • Poly: A lion with the Polycaudal mutation. See the Polycaudal section of the Visible Mutations page for more information.
  • Pon: A Leopon, which is a hybrid between a leopard father and a lion mother. See the Leopons section of the Hybrids page for more information.
  • Potato/Potato Cub/Potato Lion: A mediocre-looking lion with plain looks and few markings.
  • Powdered Donut: A lion that has many Vitiligo markings.
  • Queen: A king that has a Lab Test Frog decor equipped, making him appear as female.
    It can also refer to a "lead" lioness that a player has chosen for their pride.
  • Raffle Lady: The weekly special lioness that is raffled off to Dreamboat kings.
  • Rep: Replacer, a lion that has a mutation, high stats, or a good appearance that is worth kinging.
  • Reverse Breeding/Reverse Studding: A lioness who has her heat sold off by her owner to another player. The heat purchaser can then breed that lioness to the stud of their choosing and will either inherit one or all of the lioness's offspring from that breeding. Reverse breedings/studdings are most common with hybrid mutated lionesses such as Leopons and Tigons.
  • Roaming Lion/Roaming Lioness/Traveling Lion/Traveling Lioness: An unofficial feature where a lion or lioness is transferred out by their original owner to other players for free. The player that receives the traveling lion can change the lion's appearance, write in their biography, equip decors to them, etc. before sending them to the next person in line or sending them back to their original owner. Usually an owner will assign their lion to be a traveling lion as soon as they can be transferred (starting at 5 months of age) and will ask for them back near the end of their life (13 to 14 years of age).
  • Roy: A shorthand term for the Royal mane shape.
  • Side: A shorthand term for Sidereal, which can refer to the Sidereal base, Sidereal mane colour, or Sidereal marking colour.
  • Sky: A shorthand term for Skyward, which can refer to the Skyward base, Skyward mane colour, or Skyward marking colour.
  • Spider/Spider Cub: A cub with the Extra Limbs lethal mutation. See the Extra Limbs section of the Lethal Mutations page for more information.
  • Stat Rep: A stat replacer, a lion whose intended purpose is to boost the stats of a player's current king. When stat repping (or stat replacing), players will keep the appearance of their current male, but use their stat rep as their new king. This way, they can keep their king's appearance that they may have worked hard for while also increasing his value by making him have higher stats.
  • Stud Race/Stud Racing: A term for a now-obsolete unofficial feature where one player could send out stud requests to multiple kings for one single lioness. The stud that managed to impregnate the lioness would receive the stud fee successfully, while participants usually did not get any compensation. It is now not possible to send a stud request to more than one king for one lioness.
  • Sub: A subordinate male, a male lion that is 2 years of age or older.
  • Symm/SymmPie/Symm Pie: A lion with the Piebald (Symmetrical) variation mutation. See the Patches and Piebalds page for more information.
  • Traditional/Traditional Studding: A type of breeding that relies on good will between players. Traditional studdings are usually offered at a free or discounted rate compared to normal studdings, or they are offered when a king has run out of studding slots for the week. One player will transfer their lioness they wish to breed, as well as any breeding items, food, nesting material, toys, and studding fees, to the stud's owner. The stud's owner will then breed with the lioness and keep her within their pride for the three days of her pregnancy, or they will use an IBF on her and send her back that same day.
  • Tree Adolescent/Tree Cub: An adolescent or cub that was picked up from the Giving Tree.
  • Vit: Vitiligo, a marking shape that tends to be applicator- or breed-only.
  • Vitbomb: A lion that has many Vitiligo markings.
  • Wither: A lion with the Piebald (Withered) variation mutation. See the Patches and Piebalds page for more information.

  • Aped: Apedemak, one of the official NPCs for the retired July event and Civil War storyline.
  • Apo/Apolly/Polly: Apollyon, one of the official NPCs for the retired July event and Civil War storyline.
  • Demi: The Demiurge, the official NPC for the Journey to Vredefort Crater questline.
  • Enclave: Gorilla Enclave, an area of the site where cubs can be turned in to gain Monkey Teeth, energy, experience, and impression. See the Gorilla Enclave page for more information.
  • Happy Tree Hour: Formerly a player-made game involving the Giving Tree. Due to the way the Giving Tree functions, it is much more difficult to schedule "HTH drops" or "Happy Tree Hour" as items are no longer queued to be released to the Giving Tree every hour.
  • Harb/Harby: The Harbinger, one of the official NPCs for the September event and the Harbinger storyline.
  • Hoot/Hoot Hoot/Hooter/Owl: The community-given nicknames for a player with the Community Contributor badge.
  • Lowball: An offer made on an asset being sold that is well below what the asset normally sells for.
  • Main: Main Chat, the default off-topic channel of the Chat Room.
  • Modbot: The community-given nickname for an anonymous moderator team member that posts in the Chat Room.
  • Murphy: The community-given nickname for the green snake on the Quests & Snake page. The name was given to him in reference to "Murphy's Law", generally because he tends to give certain quests at the worst time, such as asking for a certain feather after you've sold it to Monkey Business.
  • Tree: The Giving Tree, an area of the site where players can abandon adolescents and cubs and donate currency and items for other players to pick up. See the Giving Tree page for more information.
  • Tree Drops: A set time frame in which players will discard mid-to-high value items to the Giving Tree. Tree drops are normally scheduled and started in Main Chat.
  • Vash: Vashkartzen, one of the official NPCs for the May event and Brotherhood of Zeal storyline.

Lions  

All but one of these symbols appear within your den or cave overview, allowing you an easy look of how your pride is doing without having to view each lion's individual page.

Your lion is female.
Your lion is male.
Your lion is frozen and does not have a sex.
Your lioness is in heat and is ready to breed.
Your lioness is in heat, but she is Infertile (0%) and must have her fertility raised to be bred.
Your lioness is up for reverse breeding, and other players are able to send you requests to breed with her.
Your lion has gained enough experience to level up.
Your lion is frozen.
Your lion is hungry. This symbol shows at 60% hunger or higher.
Your lion is unhappy. This symbol shows at 60% mood or lower.
Your lion is at risk of leaving your territory upon the next rollover, whether due to overcrowding, starvation, or unhappiness.
Your lioness is on her first day of pregnancy.
Your lioness is on her second day of pregnancy.
Your lioness is on her third day of pregnancy and will give birth upon rollover.
Your lioness is pregnant and does not currently have a nest.
Your lioness is pregnant and has a nest. She will give birth safely.
Your lioness is on a breeding cooldown.
Your lioness is a broodmother and is protecting her maximum amount of cubs.
* Your lioness is a broodmother and can assign more cubs to be under her protection.
Your cub is not under the protection of a broodmother and is at risk of having their survival chance lowered.
Your cub's survival chance is low enough that they may die upon rollover. This symbol shows at 40% survival chance or lower.
Your lion is being offered in a trade or as a raffle prize.
Your lion is secured and they cannot be abandoned, chased, killed, or nature reserved.
Your lioness is a hunter and can be sent out on hunts.
Your lion has just recently entered your pride (whether via claiming in explore or receiving in a trade) and is on a cooldown before they can be chased or traded again.
This displays at the top of the claiming screen to indicate you have encountered a chased lioness.

Beetles  

These symbols appear next to your beetles within their mounds.

Your beetle is female.
Your beetle is male.
Your larva is hungry. This symbol shows at 60% hunger or higher.
Your beetle has gained enough experience to level up.
Your beetle is pregnant and will hatch her clutch upon rollover.
Your beetle has hatched a clutch and has eggs available to claim.
Your beetle is on a breeding cooldown.

Players  

These symbols show up on a player's den page near their tag, as well as in chat and on the forums.

A player who joined while Lioden was in Alpha development. This was only awarded to the first 64 people that signed up to Lioden.
A player who has purchased GB from the Oasis at least five separate times.
A player who has rolled over 10 or less times and is therefore considered a newbie.
Referred to as "Community Contributors", players who have this badge are particularly helpful! They were previously manually awarded to the most helpful players. As of March 2019, they are now given out to players who give accurate detailed answers on the Game Help forum.
Referred to as "Wiki Contributors", players who have this badge have worked on the official Lioden Wiki in some way.
A player that has this badge is an official Lioden voluntary moderator.
A player that has this badge is an official Lioden site administrator.
