Before Chatting
Upon creating your account, you will find that you are unable to access the chat room. This is because this feature is blocked for your first three rollovers; upon your fourth rollover, you'll automatically be granted access to it!
In the meantime, it's advised that you review the Code of Conduct, Forum Rules, and Terms of Service in order to avoid breaking any rules upon gaining access to this feature. If you find yourself confused about a rule, or are uncertain, contact the Modbox for clarification!

Navigating the Chat Room
Accessing the Chat Box
To access the Chat Rooms, you will have two options, with the first being the sidebar. If you are on PC, this sidebar is located to the right of most pages, and it contains the "mini" version of the Chat Box.

Alternatively, if you are on mobile, the "mini" version of the Chat Box will appear at the bottom of all pages.
While you can chat within the "mini" Chat Box, said Chat Box is more of an extension. To access the actual Chat Box page, click the arrow at the top of the Chat Box panel.

If you are on PC, you will find a much larger version of the Chat Box presented to you. Should you be on mobile, you'll find that the formatting of the Chat Box has changed to the mobile-friendly version of the large Chat Box.

This version can also be accessed by visiting Chatter, to which you can click Chat Room.

Hiding the Chat Box
Have no desire to see the Chat Box, or you're just looking to take a break from it? No problem! Just select hide at the top of the "mini" Chat Box. This will keep the Chat Box hidden until you manually un-hide it!

To un-hide the Chat Box, select show. It'll be the exact same button that you used to hide it!

Chat Box Settings
To access the Chat Box settings, click the settings wheel.

- Disable Pings: This will "hide" the highlight that occurs when another player pings you.
- Highlight My Messages: Your own messages will appear highlighted to you. To change the colour of this highlight, select the box next to the right of Highlight My Messages, and select a colour.
- Relative Timestamps: "Relative" is enabled by default, meaning that message times will display as "occurred 'x' amount of time ago" in relation to the current time. To instead see Y-M-D HR:MIN:SEC, uncheck relative timestamps.
- Slow Mode: Only accessible if using the large Chat Box. This will cause messages to load in at a slower rate.
- Manual Mode: Only accessible if using the large Chat Box. This will require you to manually refresh the page to see new messages.
- Manage Muted Users: View the users that you have muted. You can un-mute them from here if desired!
- Popout: This will allow you to "drag" the Chat Box around as if it were a minimized tab.
Switching Chat Rooms
If you are using the "mini" Chat Box, select the Chat Room that you wish to use from the dropdown menu.

If you are using the "large" Chat Box, select the Chat Room that you wish to use from the top bar.

Be advised that if you have more than one tab open, and you have different Chat Rooms selected within each tab, your message may not be posted in the intended Chat Room. Due to this, it's ideal to not have more than one tab open.
Posting Chat Messages
To post a message within the Chat Box, you'll type in your desired content within the empty text field. Messages cannot exceed more than 150 characters, and your message will be cut-off if it exceeds that limit.

Once you feel that your message is good to go, click Roar!.

Posting Links
When posting a link within the Chat Box, it will become automatically hyperlinked, and will appear as the following text: [link].
A variety of links are prevented by each Chat Room's individual filter. Meaning that if you cannot post a link of a certain kind, then its contents are not permitted within that specific Chat Room.
Official Emojis
Lioden has official emojis, which can be accessed by clicking the smiling lion icon. Upon clicking an emoji, the "text" version of it will appear within your message draft. Don't worry, however, as once posted, it will appear as it is supposed to.
Below you can find a list of all Lioden emojis, as well as their text codes:

Other Player's Messages

To interact with another player's messages, click the three dots "..." that are located to the bottom right of their messages. This will then present you with the following options:
- Ping User: This will ping the user, appearing as @DISPLAY NAME (#ID) at the start of your message. Be advised that this ping will count towards your message's total character count.
- Copy Message: Will copy a player's message to your clipboard. This copy will include the message's timestamp in addition to the poster's display name and ID.
- Flag Message: Flagging a message will ensure that the message is seen by the Moderator Team. Be advised that this does not mean that there will be an immediate Moderator presence, but rest assured that the Moderator Team will see the message.
- Mute User: You will no longer be able to see a player's chat messages.
- Block User: You will not be able to see any further content that that player publishes to Lioden, including messages that they post within the Chat Rooms. Additionally, they will no longer be able to see the content that you post, nor will they be able to further interact with you in any manner.
The Moderator Team
Messages
When using the chat room, it's likely that you'll see some green messages pop-up. These messages are from Lioden's Moderator Team; the Moderator Team is a team made of volunteers that enforce Lioden's rules!

As you can see, their messages are not only green, but clearly state "MODERATOR TEAM" in the Display Name section. Like any other chat message, their messages can be seen by all players; this means that if you see a Moderator Message, everyone else is seeing it too!
Paused Chat
There is a chance that the Chat Room can end up paused. When this happens, you will be unable to post within that Chat Room or Chat Rooms, and the Chat Box will display as something like this:

During this time, you'll just want to use all other game features as normal. Eventually, that Chat Room or Chat Rooms will be un-paused, and you'll be able to talk in them again.
