As any player can see by perusing the Lioden Wardrobe, Lioden is absolutely chock-full of mutations. Here, we're focusing on two main mutations and all of their different patterns: Patches and Piebalds! Below, we have listed out all the current patterns, as well as a FAQ section regarding Patches and Piebalds.
At current, there are 25 total patterns of Patches and Piebalds. All patterns are visible at birth and do not hinder your lion in any way. The patterns can show regardless of your lion's gender, and both lions and lionesses have a small chance of passing down their mutation to their cubs.
Piebald was introduced to the game during 2016's Black Friday sale within this news post, while Patches was introduced during 2017's sale, as seen in this news post. Each Black Friday sale from then on released new patterns. In 2018, the Black Friday sale included individual Patches and Piebald applicators. 2019's Black Friday sale continued this trend of individual Patches and Piebald applicators.

A: Only if you have one of the 2018 applicators for Patches (Corrupted), Patches (Fringe), Patches (Striped), Piebald (Daedal), Piebald (Svelte), or Piebald (Withered). Mutie On Demand: Piebald and Mutie On Demand: B&W Patches will randomly apply a pattern to your chosen lion.
Q: Do poses work on Patches and Piebald lions?
A: Yes. Currently, Patches and Piebald are the only mutations that are compatible with poses. You can either choose to apply a pose to a Patches/Piebald lion, or use a Patches/Piebald applicator on a posed lion.

A: No. Breeding to a lion with a specific pattern will only yield that pattern, if any cubs do inherit the parent's mutation.
Q: Can my Patches or Piebald lioness pass her mutation down onto her cubs?
A: Yes. Patches and Piebald are naturally heritable, and can pass down from both genders.
Q: Can I use a Lion Scrotum on my Patches or Piebald lioness to give her a higher chance of passing down her mutation?

Q: If I breed my Leopon or Tigon to a Patches or Piebald stud, will the father's Patches or Piebald mutation overwrite any Leopon or Tigon cubs that may have been produced?
A: No. As shown in the above mutation roll order, hybrids will roll first, with Patches and Piebalds rolling right after. You can safely breed any hybrid lioness to any mutated stud without fearing that the cubs' mutations may be overwritten.
Q: What happens if I breed two different patterns together?
A: There is a chance that any cubs will have one pattern or the other. For example, if you were to breed a Piebald (Light) lioness with a Patches (Striped) lion, and you were very lucky, you could get both a Piebald (Light) cub and a Patches (Striped) cub.
Q: What happens if I breed two of the same pattern together?
A: Your chance of receiving that pattern will be "doubled", in a sense, and you will have a slightly higher chance of getting a cub with that pattern.
Q: Can Patches and Piebalds randomly appear on lions?
A: No. They can only be applied with their respective applicators, or bred from lions with the Patches or Piebald mutations.
Q: Can I sex change a Patches or Piebald cub/adolescent?
A: Yes. As the mutations are not gender-specific, you are safe to sex change a cub or adolescent with these mutations without them being wiped.
Q: Can I sex change a Patches or Piebald adult lion?
A: No. Adult lions with mutations cannot be sex changed.
