The month of horrible nightmares has arrived once again, and this time the october is scary not only because of the night terrors, but also the most terrifying disease is spreading through Lioden lands - Rabies! The animals are noticeable enough - just kill them all and reduce the infectivity, careful as you might get infected too! Beware of exploring at night, though… the dead do not rest.
Event Information
This event is highly focused on exploring and battling.
The explore encounters exclusive to this month can be found in all biomes.
Your lion's karma and level, as well as the biome you explore in, do not matter for this event.
In October, the community is working to unlock four tiers of one bar.
The more rabid NPCs we defeat in Explore, the faster the Blood Beetle Shack and Diabolic Altar will be unlocked.
The first three tiers of the bar unlock items in the Blood Beetle Shack, while the fourth tier unlocks a special crafting altar.
This month's currencies are 
Blood Beetles, 
Demonic Scales, and 
Nepheline Feathers.
Blood Beetles can be gained in Explore and winning battles against NPCs. Demonic Scales and Nepheline Feathers can be gained from storyline-exclusive encounters in Explore.
The October event launches on October 1st at 12am Lioden time and will end on October 31st at 11:59pm Lioden time. All unused event currency will be stored on your account until the next year.
Rabies
During October, your pride leader has a chance to contract rabies whilst battling rabid NPCs!
Rabies carries quite a few downsides to it: your leader's energy will not raise above 80%, they cannot eat food in Explore or be fed food from your hoard, and they may infect other players' leaders through PVP. However, your leader's Strength is slightly boosted during NPC battles!
If your leader contracts rabies, you will see the following alert at the top of your page. This alert persists until you dismiss it, and you can choose to dismiss this alert per device.
Important Note: This is just flavour text. Your leader will not hurt or kill any members within their pride. Your pride members also cannot contract rabies. Your leader is the only lion that can have rabies within your pride.
If you would prefer to have a healthy, non-rabid leader, you can cure them using a Devil's Claw. Each Devil's Claw comes with four uses and costs 2 Blood Beetles. They can be purchased from the Blood Beetle Shack. This is currently the only cure for rabies.
Rabies is cleared site-wide when each player rolls over on November 1st. Your leader will not retain their rabies outside of October.
Trick or Treating
Starting from 12am LDT on October 25th to 11:59pm LDT on October 31st, players are able to trick or treat with other online players. In order to trick or treat, you must carve your own pumpkin—just to let everyone else know you're participating in the holiday festivities, of course! If you don't like the design you receive, you can immediately carve a new one.
Once you've carved your own pumpkin, you can then visit other players every 15 minutes in order to receive a prize. You can only trick or treat with other players if they are marked as online and have their own pumpkin carved, so you might want to use the Members Online page to find active players.

For choosing the Trick! option, you'll receive -1 Karma. Treat! will give you +1 Karma. Both options give a random amount of Blood Beetles. They also offer a chance for +1 
Scarab Beetle or +1

Halloween Bundle
Tier three of the Blood Beetle Shack unlocks the ability to purchase Halloween Bundles.
You can purchase a Halloween Bundle for the chance to between 1 to 3 random Halloween backgrounds and decors. Additionally, you will always receive from 3 to 5 Blood Beetles upon opening such bundles! You can purchase a maximum of 1 per day for 1000 
SB or an unlimited amount for 2 
GB each.
The bundle you receive may contain rare decors that are exclusive to Halloween Bundles; however, it also carries the chance of dropping Explore-exclusive backgrounds and decors, as well as backgrounds and decors that are sold in the various October shops.

As the animals in the lands of Lioden are plagued with the threat of rabies, the ground gives an almightly shake as it splits apart. Up through the crevice rises an altar, smouldering with the energy of the far-below. You approach the altar and feel a sudden chill wrack through your body. The madness of the altar is slowly seeping out to the realms of Lioden - you sense that it is hungry. Hungry for what?
