The setting sun bathes this spot in warmth and a soft glow, making it stand out enough for you to notice a lioness resting on the cliff. Pushed by your curiosity, you climb to get closer, as the view takes your breath away.

Approach
Page 1

The lioness slowly turns her head towards you. At first, you thought her fur is reflecting the sunset's colours, but then you notice her fur actually... IS like the sunset. Her nostrils gently move, trying to grasp a hint of your smell, and her eyes are half closed in a serene calm, observing you without fear. You stare at her for a bit, noticing her subtle, patient smile after a short while.

"Hello, I don't think we've met before. Or have we? You look familiar. I am Tefnut, Apedemak's wife, proud mother of Menhit. Who are you, handsome son of Earthly whispers?"

Introduce Yourself
Page 2

"Oh! [NAME], how exotic! I come from lands far away, where sky and land become one twice a year. Apedemak likes to travel to collect things during our holidays. Being in his harem gives me a chance to explore new lands."

Her soft and cheerful tone of voice makes you want to sit down and spend some time with her. She does not give you a motherly vibe at all, maybe because her daughter is all grown up now.

Tell me more!
Page 3

Tefnut hasn't even moved a muscle since you joined in. She's clearly relaxed and enjoying the sunset. Her eyes remind you of a sunrise, where the dawning sun slowly brightens up the blue sky with a pink shade.

"Oh, you know. It's a very violent, dark land. That's why I am enjoying the holidays so much, you have such a wonderful sky here. Maybe you could show me around sometime? Just... don't tell Apedemak. He often gets jealous."

Is he possessive?
Page 4

"Oh... Don't hold it against him. He does love me with his lion heart, he's just very stressed, there's so much he has planned for his kingdom and only so little time here on Earth... It's... never mind. We're just enjoying the meteorite shards very much. And whispers, I suppose. They tend to overwhelm me with their memories and intentions."

You notice Tefnut got a bit quiet, like she's not supposed to tell you things other than some vague, usual crap Apedemak mentions. Or, maybe she does not want you to know about the horrid things that seem to be common in her homeworld.

Whispers?
Page 5

"Yes, whispers, maybe some would call them lion souls. Not all were kind ancestors."

She seems nervous, but eventually she looks at you again.

"See, our world is falling apart. Chunks of it fall onto the ground here, as the whole Celestial Kingdom crumbles into pieces. He won't admit things are bad, and why. He will keep gathering whispers to keep everything in good shape, but once every few months our world shakes. Meteor showers rain here on your lands, as ours get scarred with a void."

Holy shit.

Wow, that sounds horrible

Both button options lead to the same page.

She sighs gently, maybe regretting sharing her troubles with you.

"It's okay. The Celestial Stone is a great invention. It stores all this energy for us to keep us going. But... Apedemak cannot reveal that his methods have weak spots. He will say the rocks fall to the ground like it's a blessing for you, corporeal lions. Just humour him for me. Or, if you prefer to stay away from him, maybe show my daughter around?"

You tilt your head, concerned. Perhaps Tefnut would appreciate you keeping an eye on her daughter. Maybe Tefnut would feel safer from her husband by not hanging out with you after all.

"Menhit really likes this place. She met a very nice lion, he's from a very sunny land. I think it would be a good place for her, eventually. Hey. Enjoy yourself, maybe the both of them will turn out to be great friends."

She gets up and nudges you with her nose, so that you will look in a certain direction.

"Apedemak rests in that cave and comes out at night, for his skin is very delicate. Menhit will hang out around that meadow there, visible from here, to make us calm about her safety in these wild lands. She so desires to be independent, though. You know how grown kids get. Well. I better get going. Take care."

Goodbye
