Custom Decors, otherwise known as CDs, are decors that you, the player, can create. Unlike official site decors, these decors cannot be purchased or obtained from Event Shops, Explore, NPCs, Oasis, or year-round Shops; nor can they be obtained by Crafting. Instead, they're purchased directly from your fellow players!

Getting Started

Before starting the process of creating a Custom Decor, it's important to know the quality/style expectations and rules surrounding them. Please read the following guides to ensure that your Custom Decor has a chance at being accepted: Custom Decor & Beetle Skin Item Rules, What Is Tracing, Eyeballing, Referencing, and ART STYLE TUTORIALS, .PSD's and TIPS.

Creating Custom Decors

Now that you've drawn your Custom Decor, you're probably more than ready to get the submission process started. To do this, first head over to the Oasis, where you will need to purchase Custom Decor Creation for 10 GB.

Now that that's purchased, go to Hoard > Search "Custom Decor Creator" and click on it > Click "Create Custom Decor" where you'll end up at a screen telling you the rules for creating Custom Decors, as well as explaining the difference between Universal Decors and Stage-Specific Decors. Alternatively, go to Crossroads > Trading Center > Custom Decors > Create > Use (on a Custom Decor Creator item).

Be sure to read over the rules page thoroughly, as if your decor does not abide by these rules, it will be rejected.
Once you're ready, check the agreement box, and select 'continue' to be brought to the creation screen.

Creation: Details

You'll find that here you can list a name, description, artist ID, and tags for your decor. This information should be input as follows.

  • Item Name: The name of your decor should be an accurate reflection of your decor, or at the very least, it should not be misleading.

  • Description: Tell other players just what your decor is—yes, you can make it fun!

  • Artist ID: If you drew the decor, put your own ID. If another player drew the decor, input their ID. In the scenario more than one player drew the decor, or the artist has two accounts, input all of the IDs involved; this will look something like ID,ID or ID ID.

  • Suggested Tags: Select from existing tags that you believe to be related to your decor.

  • Thumbnail: This should be a 100x100 image that showcases your decor. If your decor doesn't fit into 100x100 well, focus on one part of your decor that you'd like to showcase instead.

Creation: Layering, Type, & Stages

Here you'll be able to create new stages, manage how your decor is displayed, and preview it. Starting with layering, you'll find two options.

  • Above: Decor is placed "above" or "on top of/in front of" the lion; this works well for clothing, jewelry, or other items that your lion could wear.

  • Below: Decor is placed "below" or "behind" the lion; backdrops, scenery, or other similar elements work with this category.

After deciding how your decor is going to be displayed, you'll then need to select its type.

  • Stage Specific: If your decor is fit to a lion, then you'll select this option. Such as if you've made jewelry for a Mngwa.

  • Universal: If your decor is not fit to a lion, and works with all stages, then you'll instead select this option. This works for environmental effects, scenery, and other similar decors.

If you selected Stage Specific, you'll now need to clarify those specifics by using the dropdowns available in Stage Settings. If a setting doesn't apply to your decor, don't select from that specific dropdown menu!

  • Age: Cub Newborn, Cub, Cub Young, Adolescent, Adult.

  • Sex: Male, Female.

  • Pose: Male: Default, Male: Spirited, Female: Default, Female: Evil, Female: Good, Female: Jolly, Female: Kind, Female: Nesting, Female: Neutral, Female: Snarky.

  • Mutation: Click here to see all mutations!

  • Mane: Click here to see all manes!

In the scenario that you do not wish to preview your decor on the default image, or would like to view your decor with a specific background, click the settings wheel that's located on the top right of the preview section; this will then take you to this screen:

Here you can choose from all of Lioden's backgrounds. Additionally, you can choose a lion that you own to preview, in which all Stage Settings will then adapt to your chosen lion's appearance. Once you're done, click the 'x' at the top right of the page.

Once you're certain that all of your Stage Settings look correct in the preview, select Add Stage.

Creation: Image Files

After adding a stage, you will then see it appear as an available option within the Image Files section. Select the rock icon in order to upload the decor image file that you associate with that stage. While uploading, you will find yourself greeted with a preview of your decor on the pose that you have selected!

If your preview does not appear, make sure to check if you've selected the Layering options first (Above or Below lion)! If the preview does not look correct, you will want to cancel the upload. This is likely due to having the incorrect Stage Settings or having uploaded the incorrect image file; in these scenarios, you can do the following:

Should your Stage Settings be incorrect, select the red minus icon on the image file to remove that stage. You will have to create a new stage with the correct settings. Alternatively, if you had instead uploaded the incorrect image file, click the rock icon again to upload the correct image!

Now that you have uploaded the image file, you can select the eye icon to the left. This will then show your decor in the Preview section, where you can ensure that your Stage Settings for your image file are correct!

Repeat the above processes until you have added all desired stages. Once everything looks good to go, select Submit Changes!, and your Custom Decor will then be submitted for approval.

Creation: Pending, Approval, & Rejection

Please be advised that after you have submitted your Custom Decor, there is no exact timeframe as to when it will be reviewed; have patience and rest assured that the staff team is working as quickly as possible to review pending decors.

If you would like to view your pending decors, go to Explore > Trading Center > Custom Decors > Yours.

Once your decor has been approved or rejected, you will then receive a game notification. If your decor was approved, you will be provided with x3 copies of it. If your decor was rejected, you will be refunded x1 Custom Decor Creation; depending on the reasons provided for your decor's rejection, you will be able to resubmit it with the necessary edits. To resubmit your Custom Decor, you will need to again use your Custom Decor Creation item, and go through the creation process.

Managing Custom Decor

Whether your Custom Decor is new or old, there's a chance that you may want to buy more copies, edit, sell, or merge it with an existing decor that you created. Thankfully, all of these features are located in the same place. To reach them, head to Explore > Trading Center > Custom Decors > Yours, and look at Approved.

Click on the name of the decor you wish to manage, and you'll find yourself at this screen:

Buying More Copies

If you would like to purchase more copies of a Custom Decor that you have created, you will have the option to buy x1 copy for 3 GB. Yes, you can purchase as many copies as you like!

Editing Your Decor

To make edits to your custom decor, such as changing an image file or adding a new stage, select Edit Decor. This option is located at the top right of the page, and you'll be taken to a screen similar to the creation screen, just with the general information already filled out for your decor!

Once you have made your desired edits, select Submit Changes!. As with your initial submission, these changes will need to be approved by staff, meaning that they will not occur immediately. Once approved or rejected, you will be notified.

Merging Your Decor

If you created multiple versions of a decor so that it could be compatible with different stages prior to the rehaul, you'll want to merge them. This will allow you to merge all versions into one single decor, which can then be applied to various stages. To do this, click Merge Decors at the top right of the screen. You'll then be taken here:

Before proceeding, it's ideal to read the official merging guide: Custom Decor Merge Guide. Once you have read over this guide, or you at least have it on hand, locate the versions of this decor that you would like to merge; once located, check the box in the top left corner. You will need to do this for all of the versions that you are merging.

Should you be greeted with an error upon checking a box, please review the official merging guide that was provided above.

Once all versions have been selected, and all errors have been fixed, you'll press Submit Merge Request. Like with all other changes, this request will be reviewed by staff, and you will be notified once the request has been approved or rejected.

Selling Your Decor

Via your decor's direct page, or your approved decor's page, you will find the ability to price your decor for SB and GB.

To price you decor, input your desired SB and GB amounts; be advised that if you list both SB and GB, your decor will be sold for both collectively; it cannot be sold for one or the other. In the scenario that you do not wish to sell your decor for a combination of SB and GB, leave the field of the currency that you do not wish to sell it for blank.

No matter the amount that you input, you will find that an additional 3 GB has been added to the price. This amount does not go to the seller of the decor, but rather, it goes back into the game.

Now select Set Prices, and your decor will be listed in the Trading Center for purchase. If your decor is bought, you will receive a notification, and the purchase will be logged in your User Log.

Buying Custom Decor

To purchase Custom Decor, you'll head on over to Crossroads > Trading Center > Custom Decors > Browse. This will bring you to the following screen, where you will find a list of all Custom Decors:

You can narrow the search results by using the available dropdown menus, searching by name, and filtering the sorting order. To ensure you are only looking at Custom Decors available for purchase, check the box next to 'only display decors available to buy'. Once you have inputted all desired parameters, select Search.

Find a Custom Decor that catches your eye? Select Wishlist to put it on your Wishlist to come back to later (or to potentially be in for a surprise gift), or select the name of the decor to be taken to the purchase screen. On this screen, you'll be able to preview the decor on your own lions; only your lions with compatible stages will be able to be selected from!

If all looks good, select Buy for ... at the top, and you will find the Custom Decor to now be located in your Hoard.

FAQ & Known Issues

As a result of the rehaul, there are a few common questions and known issues that have made an appearance. Before creating a Bug Report or contacting the Modbox, read below!

Decor Isn't Working:

  • Q: Why did my lion's custom decor stop working when it worked before?
A: The decors stages are no longer compatible as a result of the rehaul. Should the creator have been recently active, you can try messaging them to let them know that their decor's stages need to be updated; however, regardless of whether or not a creator is active, the staff team is reviewing all decors to ensure and fix outdated stages!

  • Q: Why is a decor not working for a stage that has the same artwork for both male and female lions?
A: While male and female lions do share some of the same stage artwork, such as with cubs, the decor's sex must be set to any in order to work on both male and female lions. Otherwise, it will only be able to be applied to the selected sex.

  • Q: Why is a decor not working for my lethal lion when its appearance is the same for the cub stages?
A: The appearance might be the same, but the stage settings are not. In this scenario, the Custom Decor is missing the files for that specific age.

Merging:

  • Q: I purchased a Custom Decor Creation item in order to have my decor be compatible with multiple stages before the rehaul. Can that be refunded?
A: Please reach out to the Modbox for assistance!

  • Q: What's happening with the decors that need to be merged, but the creator is inactive?
A: These decors should hopefully be merged upon the staff team's current review of all decor files; this process just takes time!

Image Uploads:

  • Q: It won't accept the image file for my decor, why?
A: Either the file size is incorrect, or your upload doesn't have a compatible file type for conversion, and you will have to change it.

  • Q: Why is my image upload taking forever?
A: This is a known issue. For the time being, just be sure not to close out of the tab; you can leave it, but don't close it, or it will cancel your upload.

Miscellaneous:

  • Q: What happens if I reload the page while I'm working on submitting a Custom Decor?
A: Your settings will be saved, so don't worry about a reload resetting them. The only thing that would be effected by a page reload would be if you are actively uploading a file.
