Quest 28

"[NAME]! Hello! I have finished preparing an apology gift to the Leaderboard dweller. Please, take it with you. I feel very responsible for what has happened to them, and I have much gratitude over finding the last pieces of the Cancri.

Visit our patient and bring more of the cure with you. Tell them that we have more whenever they feel like they may need it."

You have not fulfilled your task yet. The Leaderboard dweller has not given you the residue yet.

To complete this quest, you must visit the Leaderboards through Crossroads.Once you visit the Leaderboards, you will see the following prompts at the top of the Leaderboards.

You approach the cave again, this time without the fear of the unknown. You still have no clue who this lion is, but at least you now know they're just a victim of the Cancer sickness.

As you walk into their cave, you announce yourself in advance with gentle roars. This time, you are not met with a scary dragon, but a slightly less-deformed natural animal instead.

You look better!

"Thanks. To tell you the truth, it's an improvement from my normal face." The lion grins at you, obviously in a good mood. "You told me who you were yesterday, and now I finally can tell you more about myself.

"I am Ukuveza. I am in charge of keeping order and displaying the records of the famous lions within these lands. I live an introverted life, and I have to admit that the loneliness isn't bad, but… the lack of entertainment sure is.

"The shards I found sparkled and almost hypnotised me. I could stare at the lights moving within them forever. I wanted them in my cave so badly that I lost myself in it all. I never was in harmony with my body, but this… this was far worse. It's like that residue took what I hated and twisted it a hundred times over into something worse." You solemnly listen to their tale, concern etched on your face.

Cheer them up.

You express to the lion that maybe they just don't have enough interactions with others to hear truthful, loving reassurance. Ukuveza shakes their head.

"Perhaps, but it's just not easy to get out. I like to organise. It's emotionless, neutral, and fair, and it helps me feel like I contribute to society. Thank you, though. The residue you're looking for is located at the bottom of this mountain in a ravine. It's a bit of a lengthy trip, but I'm sure you can make it. Oh…? What's that?"

The lion's eyes become large and focused once you show off the gem garland that the Demiurge crafted.

"An apology gift? For me? Oh, that's so precious… it will be a wonderful souvenir to remind me that I should leave these cliffs once in a while."

You nudge the antidote pouch towards them as well.

"More of the cure? Do you think I'll need to take it for the rest of my life? No? Oh, well, maybe we should pretend that I must. It will give me a reason to visit you sometimes." You exchange smiles, and you attempt to nuzzle Ukuveza again, but they shy away this time. It's okay. At least you understand why, and you won't push it.

Retrieve the residue and go back home.

Once the Leaderboard dweller has been spoken to, return to the Demiurge.

"Oh, let me just store away this residue, then you can tell me everything! …Oh, woooow. Really? So they're a hermit lion of sorts. Perhaps you've brought some light into their lonesome world, in a more beneficial way than the residue did.

Oh, no, I don't mean the gem garland. I mean the comfort of a new friend. I'm glad this is all over… well, almost!"

Almost?

Quest 29

"Well… the last big clump of residue that I've sensed is not easily accessible. I will need to travel far away into deep waters, and in order to dive, I must take my energy form. Most meteors fall into the ocean, you see. It's way too deep to be affected by your yellow sun, but it could still decay and seep into the water eventually, tainting marine life around it. It is important that I retrieve it.

Meanwhile, I would like you to take these meat chunks marinated with the cure and spread them among hundreds of prides. It's a big journey for us both, one that will save your future cubs' environment and ensure healthy lives. Once you're finished, we will meet at twilight."

You have not fulfilled your task yet. 0/500 dens visited.

To complete this quest, you must visit other players' territories and den pages and click the "Spread the Word" button that displays.

Spread the Word

It does not require the player whose den page you're on to be online. You can go through all offline accounts one by one and complete this quest.

You can also use the "# member(s) online" link on the sidebar to find players that you can "Spread the Word" on, as that page displays 20 different players at one time.

You have informed the lions of this pride to avoid hunting and eating any animals that could have been tainted with stardust, especially the creatures dwelling within water.

The players must be unique, and you cannot "Spread the Word" on the same player more than one time.
This also counts the 750 players that you previously "Spread the Word" to.

You have already spread the word here!

It's a good idea for you to have the Journey to Vredefort Crater page up in another tab and periodically check it, as there is no visual indication about what number den you're on.

Once you have spread the word to 500 total dens, return to the Demiurge.

"Welcome back, [NAME]. The crevice is filled with humming residue, ready to be gathered. I will work tonight on condensing it all into a special, multi-dimensional micro black hole. A black string, if you will, with the ability to weave through spacetime, leading the residue precisely back to its place within the constellation. It should consume all remains that match its frequency.

Ah, sorry for my rambling, I get that way about my work! I love my job. To put it in simpler terms, it will be like a tiny ball of light that vacuums dust from this planet.

Alright, I'd better get to work. Take care for now!"

(+2 residue!)

Okay.
