After a long journey, you arrive at twilight to the edge of the serrated ridges that scar a chain of hills. The meteors which crashed here changed the shape of this land millions of years ago, leaving dark shapes melted into the stones, and creating eerie, wavy shapes of a "star wound" in the earth.

You walk along the cliff lines, realising that the crater itself is gigantic. Looking for the remnants may take a long while. You sit at the edge, contemplating your searching plan whilst you watch the star shower in the sky. It's truly magnificent.

Take it in.

You observe the glowing rain as it strikes the earth's horizon. The sky truly seems as though it's breaking apart. It's a breathtaking view. A singular, faint glow in the sky appears stronger and brighter, its shape becoming elongated as it slowly moves. The more time that passes by, the clearer it becomes that it's a gigantic meteor aiming right towards this crater!

You hide behind a rock and observe the scene, as your curiosity of witnessing what could be the last possible moment of your life takes over. The meteor breaks apart during its entry, and it shines even brighter than before with a lung-shaking thunder. The night sky becomes bright with a flash as the glowing rock hurls into the middle of the crater, hitting the ground with a beautiful explosion.

It is tremendously smaller than you first thought, so you no longer worry about your survival. This may be the first meteor impact you've experienced so closely!

Investigate.

You carefully approach the astrobleme, feeling an enveloping warmth from the smoky dust swirling around you. The overwhelmingly familiar scent of meteor shards is strong, and it fills you with excitement. Perhaps you've discovered something of epic proportions! As you step closer, your visibility becomes foggier, and the ground appears darker. You can feel the earth beneath your paw pads sizzling. You're nearly there.

Approach the impact point.

Cracked meteor shards litter your path as you walk closer. Where you expected to see a giant rock, there instead lies a small, crispy, smoking figure. It appears to be moving. You step back quickly, and as you're retreating, the moving figure stands up, emerging from its crusted shell which falls off in crumbles.

Its seemingly-burnt fur glistens with a star-like tremble among a lavender-coloured swirl. The creature turns around, and… well, you're a little underwhelmed. You really thought it would be much taller. The creature looks like a lion, just… smaller. It looks at you, and its eyes match the colour of its glowing tail as it was falling from the sky.

Welcome him.
Page 4

"Greetings, terrestrial lion! Do not be afraid of me." As he speaks, you assess his body with your eyes. There isn't much to fear in a physical way, but celestial lions falling from the sky in a blaze of fire might possess the ability to smite you with god-like powers. "I am the Demiurge. I designed the constellations you see from your world. I am bound to a Dwarf galaxy within the Leo group… as you can see, it has implications on how you perceive me." He looks down at himself, spreading his stubby paws.

"Annually, I send a comet to observe the progress of your world, which causes Leonid meteor showers upon the earth as it passes. The last survey confirmed my fears… the dreaded Cancer constellation is falling apart and spreading on your world," he explains, short and to the point. Just like his face.

Oh no!
Page 5

"Oh no, indeed. We knew it was vanishing, but I needed to be sure where its remnants were headed. This trip further confirmed our predictions! I saw the Cancer residue covering your ground like a veil." You tilt your head a bit. We? There's more of them? You imagine dozens of dwarf lions, flying around in the sky. Your mind is probably limited by the way you've experienced life on this planet, so it seems a little too bizarre of an idea to toy with for too long.

"The biggest problem is… the constellation I call home, the kingdoms of Leo, they're at war. The Cancer lands are now free to take, and they've begun to fight over who will conquer them. My heart weeps as the kings spill their brothers' blood," he says solemnly, concern clear on his face.

What can be done?
Page 6

You coughed a bit while speaking. The dwarf takes a few steps in the direction of the hills, leading you out of the newly-formed crater. The discussion continues while you take a few breaths, trying to heave the dust out of your lungs.

"Cancer could possibly be chased back to its place in the sky. The common enemy could unite the kings again. Perhaps if we can find all of its residue, I could take it back with me. It's so much easier searching with somebody who knows these lands, so I would appreciate your help. In return, I could give you something called… Interstellar Remnants. They are the leftovers of my comet's journey through the aeons, and I think your kind values it quite dearly," the Demiurge smiles. Ah! A reward worth the effort.

"I see you're interested! Perhaps we could go back to your home lands and start our search there, after some rest, of course."

Sounds like a plan.
