July has started, and as it's commonly known, the greatest meteor showers will begin this month, especially over the southern hemisphere, thus Africa gets bombarded by millions of tiny meteorites! (The Earth is hit with roughly 40 000 tonnes of space debris, bits leftover from the Solar System formation EACH YEAR. Crazy huh?)

Your lions noticed that the lights also appeared in forests as fireflies! Is this all connected? What's the mystery behind that?!

This month the sky is sparkling with lights! Some are brought by fiery rocks falling from the sky, and some by fireflies, near the ground. It might be fun to catch both of those, somehow!

Event Information

This event is highly focused on exploring.
The explore encounters exclusive to this month can be found in all biomes.
Your lion's karma and level, as well as the biome you explore in, do not matter for this event.

In July, the community is working to unlock two separate bars, which reveal a few different areas on the site.
The more we visit the Cloud Forest and gather Fireflies, the faster the Firefly Shop tiers will be unlocked.
The more Meteorite Shards we collect in Explore, the faster we will unlock the Zimbabwe area, Celestial Raffles, and the Celestial Stone!

This month's currencies are Fireflies and Meteorite Shards.
Fireflies can be gained from storyline quests and found in Explore, the Cloud Forest, and Zimbabwe, while Meteorite Shards can be gained from storyline quests and found in Explore.
The Interstellar Remnants applicator can be found alongside Meteorite Shards in Explore; however, it's very rare!

Explore Encounters

A quiet rustle catches your attention, causing you to notice Apedemak's daughter flirting with a suspicious looking lion. You decide not to disturb them - who knows what that odd lion would do to you.
NOTE: This is a day-only encounter. You will only come across it when it is day time on Lioden.

Apedemak seems anxious, looking for his rebellious daughter. What? No, no, you didn't see a thing…
NOTE: This is a night-only encounter. You will only come across it when it is night time on Lioden.

As you walk along your usual path, you meet Apedemak, the self-proclaimed god, roaring about his superpowers every time a star falls from sky. Not sure if this is real or he's just completely crazy, you decide to move on.
NOTE: This is a night-only encounter. You will only come across it when it is night time on Lioden.

It's hard to miss this lion passing you by, as fire seems to spark from below his paws.
Action Result Reward
Attack! Initiates a battle with Apollyon +30 Meteorite Shards if the battle is won
Bow Down Not sure if he's as weird as Apedemak and showing off some tricks - but just in case you decide to show respect and bow down your head a bit. The lion nods at you, says his name is Apollyon and that he might spare you when the End is near… +10 Meteorite Shards

Loud roaring and thumping sounds dragged your attention from exploring. Apollyon and Apedemak are fighting fiercely, and blood is dripping from their fangs!
Action Result Reward
Intervene You jump to separate the two lions before they kill each other, but Apedemak seems very agitated and after a few snarky remarks leaves limping a bit. Apollyon smirks and gives you something for being brave enough to stand up for a weak lion like Apedemak. +3 Karma
+10 Meteorite Shards
Cheer! You sit down close by and cheer for the lion you like more, while the other one is obviously pissed off. Eventually they beat the crap out of each other and separate, sneezing blood from their nostrils. You hang around a little bit to see if they dropped anything. -3 Karma
+10 Meteorite Shards
Observe Quietly you lie down nearby and observe the fight until it resolves on its own with both lions being too bloody and tired to continue. As they leave, Apedemak passes you and gives you a small gift, perhaps thankful because you did not butt into his business. +10 Meteorite Shards

Ohhh, there's a bunch of fireflies flying around! Maybe you can catch some?
Action Result Reward
Grabby Paws Oooh no, you didn't catch anything. N/A
You managed to grab 2 Fireflies! +2 Fireflies
Wow! You grabbed 4 Fireflies! +4 Fireflies
Aww yiss, you grabbed 8 Fireflies! +8 Fireflies
NICE ONE! You managed to grab ALL 16 OF THEM! +16 Fireflies
NOTE: This is a night-only encounter. You will only come across it when it is night time on Lioden.

There's plenty of weird, black stones around, you check them out in case they're what Apedemak wants. +1 to 5 Meteorite Shards
Very low chance to receive Interstellar Remnants
You find some glittering stones on the dried up river shore.
You notice something reflecting light in the grass.
You smell iron and sulfur somewhere nearby. You search the grass and find a relic from the sky!
You step on something sharp, your paw is in pain… But the stingy object was a rare stone!
NOTE: This encounter does not require you to do any actions, or press any buttons.

You notice Apedemak on your path, flirting with some lioness. You hear him using douche lines… Such as how he's a god and her eyes are like stars. Blerh.
NOTE: This is a night-only encounter. You will only come across it when it is night time on Lioden.

You notice Apedemak's daughter, Menhit, wandering in the sun. What a heavenly beauty.
NOTE: This is a day-only encounter. You will only come across it when it is day time on Lioden.

You notice faint, flickering blue streaks of light. It's energy of lion souls, called Whispers, because a silky rustling noise and certain words can be heard around them. They are very active, disturbed by falling stars.
Action Result Reward
Cleanse You hum something peaceful while letting the incense smoke entwine with the Whispers. They slowly rise up towards the sky. +1-3 Whisper(s) towards quest!
Trap You snarl and hum at same time, lifting a glistening Meteorite Shard in your paw. Some Whispering glow gets absorbed inside it! +1-3 Whisper(s) towards quest!
NOTE: This encounter only appears when doing the Whisper quest for Apedemak or Menhit

You spot Apedemak's daughter spending some quality time with this strange Apollyon fellow. You decide to not disturb them.
NOTE: This is a day-only encounter. You will only come across it when it is day time on Lioden.

You stumble upon Apedemak chattering at the stars. He's surely insane.
NOTE: This is a night-only encounter. You will only come across it when it is night time on Lioden.

Cloud Forest

"Sup. This is my forest. Wanna go in, pay a toll. Give me 2 amusement item uses."

The Cloud Forest, run by a dudebro Long-Crested Eagle, is where you'll be earning the majority of your Fireflies.

Every 30 minutes, you can pay him two uses of amusement items (or "toys") of any kind to enter the Cloud Forest and grab some Fireflies. Please note that when you pay to enter, you are paying with item uses, not individual items.

When you first enter the forest, it will be alight with Fireflies buzzing all over!

The Cloud Forest is alive with lights! Are those spirits of rocks from the sky? You should try and catch them!

When you click the "Chase!" button, you will receive either 3, 4, 5, or 6 Fireflies. The amount you catch is determined at random.

You dart between the trees, trapping the Fireflies with your paws and onto the ground, bark and rocks. You scooped up [3, 4, 5, or 6] Fireflies and the rest got away!

Once you have grabbed some Fireflies, you are then on a 30 minute cooldown before you can enter the Cloud Forest again.

You scared off the fireflies! Maybe come back in 30 minutes when they come out again?

Wish Upon a Falling Star

If you wish upon a star with a few fireflies, a Celestial Lioness from my harem might be granted to you in our twice daily 12 hour raffle.

Wish Upon A Falling Star, also known as the Celestial Raffle, is where your kings can go to have a chance at impressing ladies from Apedemak's pride! These ladies are extremely unique - some of them have very rare bases, while others have rare markings and eyes that can only be achieved through impressing a lioness from Apedemak's haremn! Each lady stays up for 12 hours, and has a fee of 6 Fireflies to impress her.

The lionesses will be swapped out at 12am and 12pm Lioden time, disregarding when the tier is unlocked. Your impression doesn't matter, so losers and studs alike can test their luck!

There are two types of lionesses in the raffles, Type 1 and Type 2. Each raffle has a 50/50 chance of generating either type - it is not set, and is random each raffle.

Celestial Stone

Lions, you have brought me many shards. To show my gratitude, I will lead you to a sacred Celestial Stone. CAREFUL though, do not touch it!

Apedemak stands in front of the stone. "DO NOT TOUCH THIS STONE! It's very radiant, but its power lets lions be one with the Celestial Realms. Tell you what. You can let your lions touch it, but make sure that… you know. You won't miss them…"

As soon as your lion goes up to touch the stone, you'll see a message pop up.

Are you sure you wish to sacrifice this lion? They will die and not show up in your dynasty!
Are you 100% sure?!? This cannot be reversed!

Upon touching it, you'll be given emotional flavour text describing your lion's journey into stardust, and your reward.
You lead [NAME] to the Stone. [NAME] touches it, curious about the radiance, and vapors immediately into something that Apedemak calls stardust. "Don't worry," he says. "They will return next year as Meteorite Shards, falling from the sky when I call them!" Unsure about the fate of the lion that the Stone just killed, you accept the reward that Apedemak offers you: ___.

30% Energy 30 SB 3% IMP EXP (Level x 20)

Cubs and nursing lionesses cannot be sacrificed. If cubs were chased, she will still be classified as nursing. Lions must not be hunting, stuck in a trade (or trade offer), be on a NCL cooldown, be custom, broodmothers, protected by a broodmother, frozen, secured, patrolling, in raffles, or dead.
You can only sacrifice 44 lions per day! The stone has no effect on karma whatsoever.

This IS permanent! Make sure you properly label your Murder Stone fodder, because they won't be able to come back once they're turned into stardust!
